The start of the 2021 season not only brought about plenty of excitement because of some normalcy returning with a 162-game campaign, but also virtually with the release of MLB The Show 21. The ballyhooed video game series is available on Xbox consoles for the first time.

Jackie Robinson is the cover athlete for the Collector’s Edition, and San Diego Padres star shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. is on the cover of the standard version. The game released this week and with that has come more announcements for players in the Diamond Club.

Originally introduced in MLB The Show 20, the Diamond Club is a tier of recognition for the top players available in the game’s Diamond Dynasty mode. The Los Angeles Dodgers had six players receive a Diamond Rating in Trevor Bauer, Cody Bellinger, Mookie Betts, Walker Buehler, Clayton Kershaw and Corey Seager.

Only 40 players are being recognized with a Diamond Club rating in MLB The Show 21, which gives the Dodgers an impressive percentage of the game’s elite.

Francisco Lindor, Manny Machado, Tatis and Christian Yelich are among those who have earned the designation as well.

In last year’s edition of MLB The Show, a Diamond Club selection meant an 85 player rating or higher. However, that number could differ from a traditional player rating in the game because of the modes.

Dodgers dominate top 100 players for 2021 season

The Dodgers’ impressive collection of the talent previously dominated a list when they had nine selections to the top 100 players for the 2021 regular season.

That group included Betts at No. 2 overall, Bellinger (No. 10), Seager (No. 24), Bauer (No. 29), Kershaw (No. 38), Buehler (No. 40), Max Muncy (No. 45), Justin Turner (No 46) and Will Smith (No. 50).
