The Los Angeles Dodgers continued with some shuffling in their bullpen on Wednesday as Landon Knack was recalled and Seth Halvorsen was optioned back to Triple-A Oklahoma City prior to the series finale against the Kansas City Royals.
Knack is up with the Dodgers for only a second time this year. He was among a handful of pitchers who began the 2026 season on the injured list and wasn’t activated until July 11.
Knack remained with the team until getting sent to Oklahoma City on July 21. During that span he only appeared in two games, throwing a combined five innings and allowing five runs. Knack gave up two homers in each relief appearance.
While with the Comets this season, he’s gone 2-0 with a 2.60 ERA and 1.15 WHIP across five games (four starts). Knack’s most recent appearance at the Triple-A level came on Aug. 5, when he threw 5.1 innings out of the bullpen and allowed just one run.
Seth Halvorsen’s debut
Halvorsen was returned to the Minors one day after making his Dodgers debut. The right-hander pitched a scoreless 10th inning to keep the game tied and was given the win when Max Muncy delivered a walk-off single in the bottom half.
Halvorsen was added onto the active roster on Monday. He joined the Dodgers organization via trade with the Colorado Rockies on July 20. Halvorsen was sent to Triple-A at the time to continue a rehab assignment, and so the Dodgers could implement adjustments.
Prior to getting recalled, threw 6.1 innings scoreless innings and collected eight strikeouts for the Comets. Combined with his time for Triple-A Albuquerque, Halvorsen owns a 1.50 ERA across 24 innings at the Minor League level this season.
The 26-year-old has thrown 19 innings this season for the Rockies with a 4.74 ERA, 5.73 FIP and 1.95 WHIP while striking out 17.7% of hitters and walking 15.6%.
Manager Dave Roberts explained the roster move as needing coverage out of the bullpen due to some relievers being unavailable for the final game against the Royals. Roberts added he anticipates Halvorsen returning to the team at some point before the season concludes.
