The Los Angeles Dodgers 2017 preliminary scheduled was unveiled, and the club will open another season with a three-game series against the San Diego Padres. However, whereas the Dodgers began 2016 on the road, Opening Day for 2017 comes at Dodger Stadium with the start of a four-game set with the Padres.
Los Angeles will then begin a six-game road trip split evenly with series against the Colorado Rockies and Chicago Cubs. The Dodgers will be the opponent for a 2017 home opener in both instances.
The Dodgers will again spend Jackie Robinson Day at home, hosting the Arizona Diamondbacks in the second of a three-game series on April 15.
The first matchup with the San Francisco Giants comes April 24 with the start of a four-game series at AT&T Park.
Interleague play for the Dodgers this year begins June 13 with a three-game road series against the Cleveland Indians. Matchups with the American League Central include facing the Kansas City Royals (July 7-9), Minnesota Twins (July 24-26) and Chicago White Sox (August 15-16), with all series at home.
Along with the Indians, the Dodgers will play the White Sox (July 18-19) and Detroit Tigers (Aug. 18-20) on the road.
Then of course there’s the annual Freeway Series. The first two games are scheduled June 26 and 27 at Dodger Stadium, with the series then shifting to Anaheim for games June 28 and 29.
Travel will be solved for any potential participants in the 2017 All-Star Game, as the Dodgers open the unofficial second half of the season against the Marlins in Miami, the host city of the Midsummer Classic.
Los Angeles has a pair of 10-game homestands (May 18-28 and June 20-30), and their longest road trip is a 10-game jaunt in mid-September. After a six-game homestand against division rivals Padres and Giants, the Dodgers conclude the 2017 regular season with a three-game series at Coors Field.
