A Kiké Hernández bobblehead night at Dodger Stadium has been added to the 2024 Los Angeles Dodgers promotional and giveaways schedule for July 24.
The game previously had been among four bobblehead dates that did not have details announced with the initial calendar. One of the other unfilled games was assigned for a Clayton Kershaw bobblehead on September 25, with the announcement coming after he re-signed with the Dodgers on a one-year contract.
Overall, there are 18 bobblehead dates on the 2024 Dodgers promotions and giveaways schedule.
Like with Kershaw, the addition of a Hernández bobblehead came on the heels of his re-signing with the Dodgers.
There long appeared to be mutual interest between the two sides, but how Hernández was going to fit on the Dodgers’ roster became unlikely when they acquired Manuel Margot along with Tyler Glasnow in a trade with the Tampa Bay Rays.
While Hernández remained a free agent into the start of Spring Training, he reportedly was down to deciding between the Los Angeles Angels, San Diego Padres, Minnesota Twins and San Francisco Giants.
But with the Dodgers trading Manuel Margot to the Twins, it created an opportunity for a reunion with Hernández, and they quickly came to terms on a one-year contract worth $4 million.
Hernández is entering his eighth season with the Dodgers, having previously played for them from 2015-2020 and after the trade deadline in 2023.
A Kiké Hernández bobblehead was released by FOCO last season and also added as a Dodger Stadium giveaway.
Kiké Hernández excited to re-sign with Dodgers
In his first interview since returning to the Dodgers, Hernández told David Vassegh on AM 570 L.A. Sports Radio that he is healthy since undergoing double hernia surgery last October and was looking forward to being back with team at Camelback Ranch.
