Cody Bellinger continues to pace all players with 2,184,251 votes for 2019 MLB All-Star Game Voting, with the second National League update announced Monday.
Bellinger is joined by Los Angeles Dodgers teammates Austin Barnes (catcher; sixth), Max Muncy (first base; fourth), Kiké Hernandez (second base; fourth), Justin Turner (third base; fourth), Corey Seager (shortstop; third), Joc Pederson (outfield; seventh) and Alex Verdugo (outfield; 11th) in the top 10 at their respective positions.
Although Bellinger maintained his standing as the leading vote-getter Milwaukee Brewers outfielder and reigning NL MVP Christian Yelich has closed the gap as he now is at 2,065,382 votes.
The top three vote-getters at each position — top nine in the outfield — will advance to the “The Starters Election” round that begins at 9 a.m. PT on Wednesday, June 26.
Thus, along with Bellinger, Seager and Pederson are on pace to advance in All-Star Game voting. Though, Seager would be unlikely to participate in the 90th Midsummer Classic due to a hamstring strain that may sideline him into August.
Meanwhile, Muncy, Hernandez and Turner each are just on the outside looking in of advancing past the “The Primary” round. Muncy trails third-place Anthony Rizzo of the Chicago Cubs by more than 500,000 votes.
Hernandez is just shy of 100,000 votes from catching the Arizona Diamondbacks’ Ketel Marte, and Turner is roughly 40,000 votes back of Josh Donaldson of the Atlanta Braves.
During “The Primary” voting round, fans can submit up to five ballots per 24 hours on MLB platforms, and can vote for every position, or up to 17 unique players per day on Google.
The first round of fan voting concludes at 1:00 p.m. PT on Friday, June 21. Later that evening, those who advanced to the next round of voting will be revealed on MLB Network.
During “The Starters Election” period, fans will have an opportunity to vote among the finalists at each position during a 28-hour window that closes at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 27. Results from “The Starters Election” will be announced at 4:00 p.m. that night on ESPN.
Fans can vote once on MLB platforms and submit up to 17 unique player votes on Google during the second phase. Vote totals will reset (votes from “The Primary” do not carry over) and the winner at each position (including three outfielders per League) will be named a starting position player for the 2019 All-Star Game.
Fans can cast their votes exclusively online and via mobile devices at MLB.com, all 30 team websites, MLB At Bat and MLB Ballpark apps, and via Google Search (U.S. and Canada only).
