As the crack of the bat echoes through Dodger Stadium, Los Angeles Dodgers fans are eager to catch every pitch and hit, no matter where they are. In today’s digital age, the ways to follow the Dodgers have evolved dramatically, offering fans many options to watch their favorite team in action. Many use an MLB TV VPN service to change their location virtually to avoid blackouts.

Traditionally, local broadcasts have been the primary means for Los Angeles residents to tune into Dodgers games, with channels like Spectrum SportsNet LA serving as the hub for regional coverage. However, the rise of the internet and streaming technology has revolutionized fan engagement, bringing MLB baseball into the homes and devices of fans nationwide and beyond.

Online streaming services and advanced recording capabilities now allow Dodgers enthusiasts to watch games live or on-demand, breaking free from the constraints of traditional TV schedules. This shift caters to the conventional viewer at home and serves the modern fan who relies on smartphones, tablets, and computers to stay connected with their team; whether local die-hards or out-of-market followers, the digital landscape ensures that all Dodgers fans can experience the thrill of the game with unprecedented convenience and flexibility.

This new era of sports broadcasting merges traditional viewing with digital innovation, reshaping how we engage with America’s pastime and cheer for the Dodgers from anywhere in the world.

MLB.TV for Out-of-Market Games

Outside the Dodgers’ local TV market, MLB.TV is the go-to service for watching games, costing approximately $24.99 monthly or $129.99 for a yearly subscription. It allows fans to watch out-of-market games live or on-demand. Be aware that local games will be blacked out, which means if the Dodgers play locally, you won’t be able to watch these games live due to broadcasting rights held by local networks.

Watching in the Los Angeles Market

If you are in the Los Angeles area, Dodgers games are primarily available on Spectrum SportsNet LA. The only streaming service currently offering Spectrum SportsNet LA is DIRECTV STREAM. This service provides a variety of plans, but to access Spectrum SportsNet LA, you will need the Choice package, which is priced at around $89.99 per month after a free trial period. This package includes Dodgers games and provides over 105 channels, including sports networks like MLB Network, ACC Network, and NBA TV. The service also features unlimited DVR and the ability to watch on multiple screens at home.

YouTube TV

YouTube TV offers an extensive lineup of channels, including ESPN, FOX, FS1, and TBS, where nationally televised Dodgers games are broadcast. This service costs around $64.99 monthly and includes access to over 100 channels, such as MLB Network and NFL Network. An extra sports add-on package is also available for an additional fee. Subscribers benefit from unlimited DVR storage. They can stream on up to three devices simultaneously, making it a flexible option for family viewing.

Hulu + Live TV

Hulu + Live TV added MLB Network on Opening Day this year and provides a comprehensive service with over 95 channels, including all significant networks broadcasting Dodgers games, for approximately $69.99 monthly. It includes unlimited DVR and access to Hulu’s on-demand library, Disney+, and ESPN+ at no additional cost. This package allows streaming on two screens simultaneously with an option to upgrade for more. It’s an excellent option for viewers who enjoy various content alongside their sports.

Sling TV Options

Sling TV provides two primary packages, Orange and Blue, priced at $40 per month each or combined for $55 per month. Dodgers games can be accessed on ESPN with Sling Orange and FS1 with Sling Blue. Adding the MLB Network requires an additional Sports Extra add-on. Sling TV is more customizable in terms of pricing and channels, offering 50 hours of DVR storage standard, with an option to upgrade to 200 hours. Viewership is more restricted on Sling Orange, with only one stream allowed, whereas Sling Blue offers three simultaneous streams and a new auto-record feature.

FuboTV for Sports Enthusiasts

FuboTV is heavily focused on sports and includes channels such as FOX, FS1, and ESPN in its Pro plan, which starts at $74.99 per month after a trial period. It also offers MLB Network as part of its Fubo Extra add-on. With over 150 channels and a sports-centric approach, this service is ideal for fans looking to catch baseball and a wide array of sports content. It also includes 1000 hours of DVR and unlimited screen usage, making it suitable for large households.

Each service offers unique features and benefits tailored to different types of viewers and their specific needs, from local fans to those watching from afar.
