The Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation announced two new Dodgers Dreamfields will be built at Loma Alta Park in Altadena as part of a restoration project due to damage caused by the Eaton Fire.
Before devastation caused by the fire, Altadena parks were viewed as anchors for diverse communities, with various programs and recreation for all stages of life. The reimagining of Loma Alta Park will be a beacon of hope, offering multi-generational programming and essential services for families returning to Altadena.
It will also serve as a gathering place for neighbors temporarily relocated across Los Angeles County and beyond.
“We are proud to partner in the reimagining of Loma Alta Park by bringing two new Dodgers Dreamfields to Altadena,” said Nichol Whiteman, CEO of the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation.
“These fields will stand as a testament to the community’s resilience, providing a safe space for youth and their families as they continue to heal from the impacts of the Eaton Fire.”
Proceeds from 50/50 raffles held during the Dodger Stadium opener and World Series ring ceremony game will go toward the development of the new Dodgers Dreamfields.
“We are incredibly grateful to partner with the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation to bring youth baseball and softball programming to Loma Alta Park through Dodgers Dreamfields, as part of the Eaton Fire recovery efforts in Altadena,” said Norma E. García-González, Director of the County of Los Angeles Department of Parks and Recreation.
“Parks are essential to building healthier, happier, and more connected communities, and Loma Alta Park is truly the heartbeat of this neighborhood. With Loma Alta Park being the first park in Altadena to reopen, having access to these upgraded fields will create invaluable opportunities for local youth.
“We’re also pleased that the Dodgers Foundation is partnering with us to refurbish the ball fields, ensuring the Central Altadena Little League can play their final games in Altadena and expanding recreational opportunities for the entire community.”
Last year the LADF unveiled Dodgers Dreamfields Nos. 61, 62 and 63 at Blair Park in San Bernardino, Calif.
Dodgers helping fire communities
The 2025 Dodgers Love L.A. Community Tour in January focused on giving back to those who were directly impacted by the Southern California wildfires.
The week included visits to the Pacific Palisades, gifting strollers and more to mothers, and players greeting fans at a Jack in the Box in Pasadena.
