Since getting eliminated in Game 6 of the National League Championship Series, some Los Angeles Dodgers have remained in Southern California while others already made their way to offseason homes.
The Dodgers tied a franchise record this season with 106 wins but ultimately couldn’t overcome mounting injuries and inconsistent lineup in the postseason. Several players have acknowledged disappointment in falling short to repeat as champions, but expressed their gratitude for fans.
As the offseason is underway for the Dodgers, multiple players took part in Halloween festivities with their respective families.
Highlights included Clayton Kershaw dressing as The Incredible Hulk, and Joe Kelly and his wife Ashley re-creating a famous all-denim look originally done by Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears during their time as a couple.
While not shared in the group of photos, Justin Turner dressed as Ghostface from the “Scream” movie franchise and announced a Halloween costume contest on Instagram, giving fans an opportunity to win an autographed baseball, Justin Turner Foundation cap, Dodgers cap, bat or cleats.
Turner and his wife Kourtney — who celebrates a birthday on Halloween — regularly dress up as a couple.
Lux: Dodgers have best dress-up day
Halloween wasn’t the first time this year Dodgers players put costumes on as they previously did so for the team’s annual dress-up day for the flight to their final road series of the season.
Walker Buehler, Kershaw, Max Scherzer and Julio Urias dressed as bikers from “Sons of Anarchy.” Meanwhile, Corey Seager and Chris Taylor appeared as players from the cult classic “BASEketball” movie, and Mookie Betts and Gavin Lux went as characters from the famed “White Men Can’t Jump.”
Lux believes the Dodgers execute the dress-up day tradition better than any other team due to the wide array of costumes and commitment from all participants.
