Earlier this year, MLB announced a streaming rights agreement with Peacock, which will see NBC Sports-produced broadcasts of games for 18 consecutive weeks.
The new offering began last Sunday with a matchup between the Chicago White Sox and Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park. The contest aired on Peacock and also was simulcast on the NBC broadcast network.
Prior to the game, retired Los Angeles Dodgers broadcaster Vin Scully narrated a promo that welcomed the return of MLB on NBC programming.
MLB and NBC have a long working relationship that spans more than seven decades. However, the matchup between the White Sox and Red Sox marked the first MLB broadcast on NBC since 2000.

Scully left CBS to begin working MLB games for NBC in 1983, calling three World Series, four National League Championship Series and four All-Star Games from 1983-89.
After the 1989 NLCS, Scully’s contract with NBC expired and he left to focus primarily on his duties with the Dodgers while also calling World Series games on national radio for CBS. While Scully also continued broadcasting golf events for NBC and ABC for much of the 1990s, his primary focus was always the Dodgers.
The Dodgers had a game selected by Peacock, with their Aug. 28 road matchup against the Miami Marlins now set to be streamed online only. First pitch for the third game of a wraparound series at loanDepot Park is set for 9 a.m. PT.
All Sunday Morning MLB games on Peacock will be exclusive broadcasts and feature pregame and postgame shows. The streaming agreement with MLB also makes Peacock the exclusive home of the All-Star Futures Game, which will be played at Dodger Stadium during All-Star Week.
Peacock also is going to feature classic games, award-winning documentaries from the MLB Film & Video Archive, and highlight packages available on-demand in a new MLB hub.
