The Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday placed Scott Van Slyke on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to Monday, with right wrist irritation. Chris Taylor was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City after being sent down on Sunday.

This is the second time since last October that Van Slyke has dealt with a right-wrist issue. He was left off the Dodgers’ National League Division Series roster because of inflammation.

Van Slyke last appeared in a game on Sunday, pinch-hitting for Josh Fields in the fourth inning and drawing a walk. On the season he’s batting .225/.292/.314 with six doubles, one home run and seven RBIs in 113 plate appearances over 52 games.

This marks the second time Van Slyke has been placed on the 15-day DL this season. He missed the majority of April and all of May with lower back irritation.

Taylor’s quick turnaround prevented him from appearing in a game with Oklahoma City after being optioned. He was sent down to clear room for Rob Segedin, who set a Dodgers franchise record with four RBIs in his Major League debut.

Taylor is batting .229/.288/.417 with two doubles, two triples, one home run and seven RBIs in 25 games with the Dodgers. Given this is the second DL stint for Van Slyke in 2016, Los Angeles remains one player short of tying the Boston Red Sox’s all-time record (27) from 2012 for most players put on the DL in a single season.
