After participating in the AM 570 Help-A-Hero Radiothon on Tuesday afternoon, Kourtney and Justin Turner will head to Pink’s Hot Dogs for the celebration of its 80th anniversary. The Turners will hop behind the counter to sell 80 cent hot dogs, with proceeds benefitting the Justin Turner Foundation.

Founded in 2016, the charity’s mission is to support homeless veterans, children and their families battling life-altering illnesses and diseases, and various youth baseball organizations. Its primary beneficiary is the Los Angeles Dream Center.

Last year the Justin Turner Foundation assisted the Dream Center in opening a women veterans home — the first of its kinds in the area. “We were so thrilled because we knew how successful the men’s program was going,” Turner said at the time.

“I just want to say thank you to everyone who got their hands dirty, got involved, and made this place special. What you guys do here is amazing. It truly is a unique place. It is amazing watching how many lives you touch every single day in our community.”

While Turner is of course a beloved figure and key member of the Dodgers, Kourtney has developed her own identity and following. She additionally plays a leading role with the Justin Turner Foundation and its annual golf tournament.

“Justin and I are pretty much equal partners,” Kourtney told DodgerBlue.com. “Our roles are a little different; he is more of the face of it and we use his platform to reach people and get more attention on the causes we care about.

“Definitely when it comes to our events, we’re both calling sponsors, getting auction items and putting everything together as a team. We like to keep it equal in that sense.”

The Turners were recognized by Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, who added the couple to their prestigious Spotlight Wall this year to symbolize their ongoing philanthropic work.

Widely considered an L.A. institution, Pink’s has previously aligned themselves with the Dodgers for the 2017 World Series and again last year by making a donation to the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation.
