The Los Angeles Dodgers outrighted Brooks Brown to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Friday after the relief pitcher cleared waivers.
Brown was claimed off waivers from the Colorado Rockies on Oct. 14. Jim Johnson was designated for assignment at the time to clear room for Brown on the 40-man roster.
Johnson has since returned to the Atlanta Braves on a one-year contract.
The 30-year-old Brown battled shoulder inflammation throughout the season and appeared in 36 games, going a 1-4 record with a 3.97 ERA, 4.26 FIP, and 1.46 WHIP.
Brown made his Major League debut with Colorado in 2014. That season he finished with a 2.77 ERA, 3.71 FIP and 0.96 WHIP.
Brown has otherwise spent parts of 10 seasons pitching in the Minors for the Arizona Diamondbacks, Detroit Tigers, Pittsburgh Pirates and Rockies.
Over that time, the right-hander accumulated a 50-65 record to go with a 4.31 ERA and 1.42 WHIP. Brown averaged 6.6 strikeouts per nine innings during that span, which is on par with his 6.3 average in the Majors.
The Dodgers’ 40-man roster now sits at 36 players entering the final weekend before the Winter Meetings.
