Beyond setting their 25-man roster for the National League Division Series, the Los Angeles Dodgers will keep a designated second and third group of players. One being a handful of select players who will travel and remain with the team despite not being active.

The other will report to Camelback Ranch and be part of a “stay hot camp,” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said. “Essentially going to Camelback and doing the simulated games, taking at-bats, throwing, so if something happens they’ll be ready to go for the next series.”

Although the Dodgers made the decision last week to shut down Adrian Gonzalez for the year, he’s set to be on the taxi squad. The players will continue to work out with the club and travel during the NLDS.

“With his history and obviously experiences, it’s only going to help the team,” Roberts explained of keeping Gonzalez involved.

Roberts did not yet divulge who would join Gonzalez on the taxi squad, nor which players were bound for the Dodgers’ Spring Training facility.

What Roberts did say is the Dodgers largely had their NLDS roster in place, save for a few final decisions that were contingent on whether they would face the Arizona Diamondbacks or Colorado Rockies in the NLDS.
