Jerseys For 2025 Home Run Derby Paying Tribute To Babe Ruth & Hank Aaron

Major League Baseball unveiled special caps and jerseys that will be worn by participants in the 2025 Home Run Derby and All-Star Game workout day at Truist Park this month.

Players from the American League, the designated road team, will wear navy jerseys with “al” in lower case letters on the chest. Sleeve cuffs have a red and royal blue pattern, with the 2025 All-Star Game logo on the right side.

The National League jersey is similar in style to the AL, with “nl” written in lowercase on the chest, and a navy blue block shadow and outline. Meanwhile, the base color of the jersey is royal blue, and it also features red placket piping with a red and navy blue pattern on the sleeve cuffs.

The navy blue on the jersey represents the current Braves color scheme, while the royal blue pays homage to the team’s Hank Aaron era. The use of lower case lettering is also a nod to the “a” that was featured on Braves caps from 1972-1980.

What’s more, the All-Star Game script is in the same style as the Braves’ City Connect jersey.

To commemorate Babe Ruth hitting his 714th home run with the Boston Braves, AL players in the Home Run Derby will wear No. 3.

In recognition of Hank Aaron breaking Ruth’s record in Atlanta, NL players in the Home Run Derby are going to wear No. 44 on their jersey.

Special All-Star Game jerseys will not be worn during the actual Midseason Classic as MLB has reverted back to its traditional look of all players donning their respective home or away uniforms.

The Braves are hosting the 95th edition of the All-Star Game on Sunday, July 15. It marks the third time that the franchise will host the exhibition game, but the first at Truist Park, which opened in 2017.

Home Run Derby participants 2025

Roland Acuña Jr. was the first to announce he is going to participate in the Home Run Derby this year. He’s since been followed by Cal Raleigh of the Seattle Mariners, and Washington Nationals’ James Wood.

Los Angeles Dodgers teammates Shohei Ohtani and Teoscar Hernández are not going to take part in the Derby. For Hernández, he’s passing on an opportunity to defend his Home Run Derby title in order to prioritize his health for the second half of the season.

Last year saw Hernández become the first Dodgers player to win the Home Run Derby
