There was a lot of optimism surrounding the Los Angeles Dodgers going into the 2020 season as they return a World Series-caliber team, and that was before the acquisitions of a former MVP in Mookie Betts and Cy Young Award winner in David Price.

Unfortunately, the start of the 2020 season has been delayed due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic that is currently sweeping across nearly the entire world.

The Dodgers would have hosted the San Francisco Giants for Opening Day on Thursday afternoon, but that did not take place and there is no telling when play will resume.

To help pass the time, Dodgers legendary broadcaster Vin Scully put out a video to send a positive message to fans who are struggling due to the coronavirus:

Just hearing Scully’s voice can be what people who are struggling in this time need to get through it. The hope is that a 2020 season will still take place, but there really is no telling how long this pandemic will last and when it will be safe for the players to return to the field.

Whenever baseball is able to be played though, the Dodgers will once again be the favorite to win the National League West for the eighth straight year.

They are set to host the 2020 Major League Baseball All-Star Game at Dodger Stadium this summer, although that may end up unfortunately being cancelled to allow for more regular-season games to be played.
