The Los Angeles Dodgers are celebrating Father’s Day 2023 at Dodger Stadium with a bucket hat giveaway for the first 40,000 ticketed fans in attendance.

The Dodgers’ Father’s Day bucket hat is reversible, with one side being all blue and featuring the trademark “LA” logo. The other side of the bucket hat is gray and includes the “Dodgers” script logo.

A promotional video for the giveaway saw Mookie Betts, Max Muncy, Brusdar Graterol, Evan Phillips and Caleb Ferguson lend their acting talent to rendition of “The Brady Bunch.” Betts, Ferguson, Graterol, Muncy and Phillips were among the Dodgers to welcome a child this season.

To further celebrate the holiday, Dodgers players will be accompanied by their dads and children for the ceremonial first pitch for a second consecutive year. The group will then announce Vin Scully’s famed “It’s Time For Dodger Baseball” to the stadium.

As a whole, MLB is once again championing to “Keep Dad in The Game” by dedicating Father’s Day to the fight against prostate cancer. Since 1996, MLB, teams and players have assisted the Prostate Cancer Foundation in raising more than $70 million to help accelerate scientific breakthroughs and save lives.

On the field, uniformed personnel will wear specially designed Father’s Day caps, that can be paired with matching socks and blue wristbands. A symbolic blue ribbon decal is being worn on jerseys, and bases feature commemorative jewels.

Dodgers dads

The Dodgers’ paternity list went through an active stretch earlier this season, beginning with Betts. He was followed by Phillips, Graterol, Muncy and Ferguson. Phillips, Graterol and Ferguson became first-time dads.

Although no longer with the team, Cody Bellinger also went on paternity leave during the same general timeframe as his former teammates.

The Dodgers baby boom was reminiscent of when six members of the team got married after the 2017 season. In just three months, Ross Stripling, Alex Wood, Justin Turner, Hyun-Jin Ryu, Joc Pederson and Austin Barnes all become newlyweds.
