The Los Angeles Dodgers were fit to be tied Friday night after managing to score just one run on 12 hits. Conversely, the Pittsburgh Pirates scored five runs on seven hits to win the series opener.

That changed in Sunday’s matchup with both clubs recording double-digit hits. Los Angeles pounded Gerrit Cole and two Pirates relievers for eight runs and 17 hits. The Dodgers scored at least one run in every inning except the eighth.

Each player in their lineup had a multi-hit game except for A.J. Ellis, Brandon McCarthy, and ensuing relievers/pinch-hitters.

Joc Pederson and Corey Seager tied for the team-high with three hits apiece. One of Pederson’s hits was a two-run, opposite-field home run in the sixth.

Video of the blast that extended the Dodgers’ lead to 8-3 is provided via the club’s Twitter account:

Pederson finished 3-for-5 with two runs scored, two RBIs, and a triple shy of hitting for the cycle. It was his second consecutive game with at least one double, and Pederson has five doubles in the the last five games.

On the year he’s batting .250/.342/.500 with 23 doubles, 17 home runs, 49 RBIs, a .350 wOBA and 122 wRC+.
