Dodgers Trade Rumors: Tyler Glasnow Interest

3 Min Read

The Los Angeles Dodgers heavily leaned on their starting rotation throughout the 2025 postseason, which included Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Blake Snell and Tyler Glasnow each making at least one relief appearance as well.

Their willingness to pitch out of the bullpen helped stabilize a unit that had fallen well short of expectations. In Glasnow’s case, his first Dodgers postseason appearance was a reliever in Game 4 of the National League Division Series. He then started Game 4 as the Dodgers eliminated the Philadelphia Phillies.

Despite the important role Glasnow played in helping the Dodgers achieve their goal by winning back-to-back World Series title, he has become the subject of trade interest and could be moved, per Alden González of ESPN:

Tyler Glasnow’s name has come up in conversations, and the Dodgers would not be opposed to moving him.

Glasnow just completed a second season with the Dodgers after being acquired from the Tampa Bay Rays in December 2023. The Dodgers also received Manuel Margot and cash considerations, and traded Ryan Pepiot and Jonny DeLuca to the Rays.

As part of completing the trade, the Dodgers and Glasnow reached an agreement on a contract extension. That amounted to keeping Glasnow under team control for the next five years at a total value of $136.5 million. Notably, the extension did not include a no-trade clause.

Glasnow has gone 13-9 with a 3.37 ERA and 1.01 WHIP in 40 starts over his two seasons with the Dodgers thus far. The 32-year-old won’t become a free agent until possibly after the 2028 season.

Glasnow’s contract includes a $30 million team option for that season, which converts to a $21.5 million player option if it’s declined.

Will Dodgers trade Tyler Glasnow?

The Dodgers have needed every bit of their starting pitching depth over recent seasons, and when healthy, Glasnow’s talent ranks among the best pitchers in baseball.

Reports of his availability comes as there is also speculation of the Detroit Tigers being open to a Tarik Skubal trade. It’s presumed Glasnow would need to be part of any package the Dodgers sent to acquire Skubal.
