The Los Angeles Dodgers jumped on Robbie Ray early, chasing him in the first inning, and hit a total of four home runs in a 14-6 rout of the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Ray walked Chris Taylor to lead off the bottom of the first inning but benefitted from him getting caught stealing. It was about all that went well for the southpaw, however. Justin Turner doubled and Matt Kemp followed with a two-run home run to left-center field.
Two batters later, Kyle Farmer turned on a pitch from Ray for his first home run of the spring. Joey Krehbiel inherited two runners on base, and he allowed both to score before managing to end what was a six-run inning for the Dodgers.
One inning after the Diamondbacks trimmed their deficit to 6-4, Turner clubbed a solo home run in the fourth to give Los Angeles a little breathing room. The home run was Turner’s second of the spring.

Then in the eighth inning, Peter, who’d previously hit an RBI triple, took David Carpenter deep for a two-run home run. The homer was Peter’s third in as many games, and gave him the team lead. Kemp and Turner are tied for second with two homers apiece.
Collectively, the Dodgers have had 13 players hit at least one home run through their first 10 Cactus League games.
Peter is in his first spring with the Dodgers as he was acquired as part of the three-team trade with the Kansas City Royals and Chicago White Sox. Although he may not crack the Opening Day roster, Peter figures to be playing his way into plenty of time with Los Angeles.
