The Los Angeles Dodgers swept their day of split-squad action against National League Central opponents, hanging on to defeat the Chicago Cubs at Camelback Ranch and cruising to a road victory over the Milwaukee Brewers.

After falling behind early in their home game, Andy Pages quickly put the Dodgers back ahead with a three-run home run in the bottom of the second inning. The homer was Pages’ second of the spring and he continues to show an impressive power swing despite undergoing season-ending surgery last year to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder.

“He’s having a terrific camp. He’s healthy, he looks good, and just with the at-bats, he’s taking really good at-bats,” manager Dave Roberts recently said of Pages.

The Dodgers later had their lead trimmed to 3-2 but Drew Avans created more separation by hitting a three-run double in the bottom of the fourth.

The Cubs again pulled to within a run of the Dodgers but never drew any closer as Josue De Paula hit a solo homer in the bottom of the eighth.

In their road game, the Dodgers were led at the plate by three hits each from Gavin Lux, James Outman and Miguel Vargas. Outman and Vargas both slugged a home run and finished a triple shy of hitting for the cycle.

Dodgers Spring Training schedule

The Dodgers don’t have another split-squad day this spring and face the Colorado Rockies at Camelback Ranch on Sunday before having their only off day.
