Part of being a rookie on any professional sports team entails being subject to some form of hazing. The Los Angeles Dodgers have taken to instructing their rookies to dress up — based on a predetermined theme — on a travel day.

In 2014, Dodgers rookies dressed up as superheroes. Among the participants were Joc Pederson, who donned a Captain America costume, and Pedro Baez Yimi Garcia, Carlos Frias, Miguel Rojas making up the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Last September, Adam Liberatore, Scott Schebler, Corey Seager and other Dodgers rookies wore outfits of wrestling superstars.

The Dodgers also did some rookie hazing last June when rookies Joc Pederson, Liberatore and Mike Bolsinger were sent to get Starbucks for their teammates while wearing their uniform, prior to the Dodgers facing the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field.

Fast forward to Friday, when the team sent prospects Jharel Cotton, Jose De Leon, Caleb Dirks, Kyle Farmer, Jacob Rhame and Julio Urias to get Starbucks. Farmer, who was in his catcher’s gear, provided a photo to document the trip:

Of the group who went to Starbucks, only Urias appeared in Friday’s game against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
