The Los Angeles Dodgers are set to enter the 2026 season with a plethora of pitching depth across the organization, which they place strong emphasis on to help them navigate unexpected injuries.
The team most notably signed Cole Irvin to a Minor League contract during the offseason, who has six years of MLB experience. The left-hander was among the team’s latest Spring Training roster cuts and will likely open the season with Triple-A Oklahoma City.
According to Shi Davidi of Sportsnet, the Dodgers have now signed Logan Allen to a Minor League contract, who most recently pitched for Team Canada in the 2026 World Baseball Classic:
Logan Allen, fresh off a couple of appearances for Canada at the World Baseball Classic, signed a minor-league deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers, according to an industry source on Wednesday.
Allen made two appearances for Canada in the WBC, allowing just one run over 4.1 innings pitched. It was his first time participating in the international tournament, and he parlayed his success into a potential opportunity with the Dodgers.
Allen figures to begin the 2026 season with the Comets as he isn’t on the Dodgers’ 40-man roster. However, the 28-year-old could receive consideration for a possible call-up later in the year if the team needs a fresh arm.
Before pitching for Team Canada, Allen appeared in 32 games (31 starts) for the NC Dinos of the KBO League last year, going 7-12 with a 4.53 ERA and 1.43 WHIP across 173 innings of work.
Logan Allen’s MLB stats
Allen was originally drafted by the Boston Red Sox in 2015 before getting traded to the San Diego Padres later that year. He made his MLB debut with the Padres in 2019 before getting dealt to the Cleveland Indians at the deadline as part of a three-team deal.
Allen spent parts of four seasons in the Cleveland organization before having brief stints with the Baltimore Orioles and Arizona Diamondbacks. He owns a 5-11 record with a 5.79 ERA and 1.63 WHIP in 124.1 innings across 45 MLB appearances (15 starts).
