Dodgers Roster: Landon Knack Recalled, Andrew Heaney Optioned

3 Min Read

The Los Angeles Dodgers recalled Landon Knack from Triple-A Oklahoma City and optioned Andrew Heaney prior to their final game of the regular season on Sunday.

Heaney, who signed a Minor League contract with the Dodgers at the end of August upon getting released by the Pittsburgh Pirates, was added onto the roster for Saturday’s game against the Seattle Mariners.

Nick Frasso was transferred to 60-day injured list in order to make room for Heaney on the Dodgers’ 40-man roster and Will Klein got optioned so Heaney could join the team.

Heaney pitched two innings and allowed a three-run home run in what’s going to be his lone appearance for the Dodgers in 2025. While with the Comets, the southpaw pitched to a 0.90 ERA in four starts.

Heaney made three consecutive scoreless starts before allowing one run in two innings on Sept. 21. He collected 13 strikeouts across 10 innings pitched in his four starts for Oklahoma City.

Landon Knack back with Dodgers

This marks a fourth stint Knack is up with the team this season, but first since getting optioned on June 6.

He was part of the Dodgers’ Opening Day roster for the Tokyo Series and earned the win in their finale against the Chicago Cubs by pitching two scoreless innings. Knack was the only Dodgers relief pitcher to log multiple innings against the Cubs.

Overall this season with the Dodgers, Knack is 3-2 with a 5.19 ERA and 1.47 WHIP in nine games (seven starts). During his time with Oklahoma City this year, the right-hander went 6-6 with a 6.66 ERA across 21 appearances (18 starts).

Knack joins the Dodgers to help cover innings but it will not be a shortened start for Clayton Kershaw. The Dodgers did do that for Emmet Sheehan and Tyler Glasnow the past two days as they make final preparations for the start of the Wild Card Series.

Kershaw will not be on the roster for the Wild Card round.
