Los Angeles Dodgers prospect Mitchell White was promoted from Double-A Tulsa to Triple-A Oklahoma City this week, marking the first time he’s joined the top affiliate. White last pitched May 12 and therefore has yet to debut with OKC.

He went 1-0 with a 2.10 ERA and 0.83 WHIP, and held opponents to a .165 batting average over seven starts for the Drillers this season. He collected 37 strikeouts against just seven walks across 30 innings pitched in those outings.

White concluded the 2017 campaign with the Drillers and spent all of last season in Double-A. The right-hander finished 2018 with a 6-7 record, 4.53 ERA and 1.41 WHIP in 22 starts for the Drillers.

White’s 2017 season was interrupted by a broken to suffered in June. Two months prior, he was named California League Pitcher of the Week.

With the Dodgers having graduated the likes of Julio Urias, Walker Buehler and Caleb Ferguson over the past few seasons, White is part of the organization’s next wave of pitching prospects. The group is headlined by Dustin May and in addition to White, includes Tony Gonsolin and Dennis Santana.

The quartet was in big league camp with the Dodgers during Spring Training this year as non-roster invitees. White appeared in just two Cactus League games, both coming as a relief pitcher, throwing a combined 1.2 innings and allowing one run, one hit and three walks.

He was selected by the Dodgers in the second round of the 2016 MLB Draft.
