When the Los Angeles Dodgers set Tyler Glasow and Yoshinobu Yamamoto as their starters for the Seoul Series, the expectation was they would then pitch the first two games at Dodger Stadium as well.
Glasnow remains on track to start in the Dodgers’ domestic Opening Day game on March 28, but Bobby Miller is now slated to take the mound against the St. Louis Cardinals the following night.
Yamamoto’s Dodger Stadium debut is now expected to take place Saturday.
“Just kind of setting things up with the schedule,” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts.
With Yamamoto now pitching the third game of the Cardinals series, he would next take the mound after that on Friday, March 5, receiving an extra day of rest heading into that outing.
Yamamoto threw 43 pitches and allowed five runs in just one inning of work in his Seoul Series start. He attributed the struggles to again not feeling comfortable with pitching out of the stretch but expressed confidence in being able to remedy the issue moving forward.
Yamamoto was seen working on his mechanics with Dodgers assistant pitching coach Connor McGuiness before the exhibition Freeway Series began at Dodger Stadium on Sunday.
Although the right-hander had an outing to forget, Yamamoto became the first Dodgers rookie to wear the special MLB debut jersey patch this season.

Glasnow and Yamamoto combined to make Dodgers franchise history as the first pitchers to make their team debuts in the first two games of a season.
Moreover with Glasnow, he became the first pitcher to start on Opening Day of his inaugural season with the Dodgers since Derek Lowe had the honor in 2005.
