While the majority of clubs looking to upgrade their roster are doing so via the waiver wire, the dominant headline is Tim Tebow’s showcase at USC. It was reported earlier this month that the former NFL quarterback was interested in pursuing an MLB career after spending the past year training.

Tebow last played baseball during his junior year in high school. A decision to focus on football paid off as he enjoyed a decorated collegiate career at the University of Florida, winning the Heisman Trophy in 2007, and National Championship in 2008.

Tebow was selected No. 25 overall by the Denver Broncos in the 2010 Draft. He sparked an improbably playoff run in 2011, then spent the following season with the New York Jets.

The 29-year-old was with the New England Patriots for the 2013 preseason, and the Philadelphia Eagles for the 2015 preseason. Although Tebow’s NFL career was fleeting, transitioning to the Majors would appear to be a long shot.

Nonetheless, his workout on Tuesday turned into quite the spectacle. Several members of the media and scouts were in attendance, including Los Angeles Dodgers scouting director Billy Gasparino, according to Pedro Moura of the LA Times:

The Dodgers reportedly held a private workout for Tebow prior to the 2016 season. Yahoo! Sports reported Monday night that Tebow received a contract offer from a Venezuelan winter ball team.
