Meanwhile, High-A Rancho Cucamonga Quakes infielder Michael Ahmed was named California League Player of the Week. For Calhoun, it’s the second time in three weeks he’s taken home Texas League Player of the Week honors.

Calhoun batted .423/.483/.885 (11-for-26) with three doubles, three home runs and seven RBIs to earn the award the first time around. He went .360/.407/.960 (9-for-25) with three doubles, four home runs and six RBIs last week.

As the youngest player in the Texas League at 21 years old, Calhoun is batting .271/.339/.502 with 15 doubles, 12 home runs and 40 RBIs in his first experience at the Double-A level. The Dodgers selected Calhoun in the fourth round of the 2015 draft.

Oaks won his lone start last week, throwing seven scoreless innings and allowing only one hit. It was his sixth straight win, though he extended the personal winning streak to seven on Monday afternoon.

Oaks is 8-1 with a 2.25 ERA over nine starts with the Drillers. He began the season with the Quakes. Ahmed hit .400/.478/.900 (8-for-20) with four doubles, two home runs and seven RBIs over six games to take home Cal League honors.

He’s batting .278/.356/.493 with nine doubles, six home runs and 23 RBIs over 43 games this season.
