Los Angeles Dodgers center fielder Joc Pederson signed a partnership deal with Chef’s Cut Real Jerky, the company announced on Tuesday. Through the partnership, Pederson will help build brand awareness for Chef’s Cut Real Jerky by connecting his experience with Chef’s Cut to the nutritional benefits of the product.

Pederson becomes the first Major League Baseball athlete signed by Chef’s Cut Real Jerky. “During the season, when I need my body at the top of its physical and nutritional game, Chef’s Cut Real Jerky is my go-to snack. It’s gluten free, high in protein and made with real quality meats,” he said in a released statement.

“All of these elements are extremely important to me when choosing the foods I’m consuming during the season, as a majority of my time is spent being active, both on and off the field.”

The high-protein snack falls in line with the diet Pederson maintains throughout the season. Chef’s Cut Real Jerky only uses hand-cut, premium meat combined with simple, real ingredients smoked to perfection.

A slow marinating process results in a tender jerky, infused with a robust flavor. Chef’s Cut Real Jerky is available in steak, chicken and turkey varieties. Their products are low in fat, gluten-free, and provides 12 grams of protein per serving.

Chef’s Cut Real Jerky was created by Chef Blair Swiler and Dennis Riedel in response to being dissatisfied with jerky options available on the market. Chef’s Cut can be purchased at select retailers, on their official website, and Amazon.com.
