The Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday reinstated Casey Fien from the 15-day disabled list and optioned Brock Stewart to Triple-A Oklahoma City. Fien had been out since July 19 with tendinitis in his right elbow.

Los Angeles claimed the 32-year-old off waivers from the Minnesota Twins on May 7 and sent him outright to Oklahoma City. His stay with the Triple-A affiliate didn’t last long, as Fien appeared in six games and sport a 5.87 ERA.

He joined the Dodgers on May 28 and went on to make 21 appearances prior to landing on the disabled list.

Fien owns a 4.09 ERA with five walks, 19 strikeouts and seven home runs allowed in 22 innings pitched. He again fell victim to the long ball, allowed four homers in his last six games.

The right-hander tossed three scoreless innings over two starts with the Arizona League Dodgers, then joined High-A Rancho Cucamonga to continue with his rehab assignment. Fien allowed one run and had three strikeouts in two relief appearances for the Quakes.

Stewart is sent back to the Minors a mere two days after joining the Dodgers for the third time this season. The club’s decision to recall him proved key as Stewart tossed three innings of relief on Sunday when Brett Anderson exited his 2016 debut due to injury.

Stewart is 0-2 with an 11.25 ERA, 2.25 WHIP and 10 strikeouts in three games (two starts) with the Dodgers. He’s 4-0 with a 2.76 ERA in eight Triple-A starts.
