The Milwaukee Brewers claimed Donnie Hart off waivers from the Los Angeles Dodgers and optioned him to Triple-A San Antonio. Hart was included on the Triple-A Oklahoma City preliminary Opening Day roster for the 2019 season.

Coincidentally, the left-handed relief pitcher will get to face OKC as they and the Missions open the season Thursday night with the start of a five-game series. Hart’s presence on the Oklahoma City roster gave the Dodgers’ affiliate another reliever with MLB experience.

He appeared in 93 games for the Baltimore Orioles over parts of the past three seasons, pitching to a 3.43 ERA, 4.40 FIP and 1.50 WHIP to go along with 54 strikeouts and 31 walks across 81.1 innings.

The Orioles selected Hart in the 27th round of the 2013 Draft. The Dodgers claimed the 28-year-old off waivers from the Orioles on March 7, and designated Josh Fields for assignment to create room for Hart on the 40-man roster.

Hart was reassigned to Minor League camp three days later. He appeared in just one Cactus League game for the Dodgers, allowing an RBI single and retiring one of two batters faced.

In addition to Hart, the Brewers also signed Fields to a Minor League contract after he was released by the Dodgers.
