Dodgers Home-Field Advantage Scenarios For 2025 World Series

4 Min Read

The Los Angeles Dodgers punched their ticket to the 2025 World Series by sweeping the Milwaukee Brewers in the National League Championship Series, but now wait to find out their opponent.

The Seattle Mariners currently hold a 3-2 lead over the Toronto Blue Jays in the American League Championship Series as the two teams take their battle back to Canada to determine who will face off against the Dodgers.

Game 6 of the ALCS is set to be played on Sunday, Oct. 19, and a potential Game 7 would be held the following day.

Aside from figuring out who they’ll play, the Dodgers are also waiting to find out where they will start the World Series. It is still to be determined if Game 1 will be held at Dodger Stadium or at Rogers Centre in Toronto, Canada.

Home-field advantage for the World Series is determined by which team had the better record during the regular season, with the tie-breaker going to head-to-head matchups.

The Dodgers (93-69) finished with a better record than the Mariners (90-72), but behind the Blue Jays (94-68) in the final standings. That means the Dodgers would begin the World Series on the road against the Blue Jays, or at home against the Mariners.

Dodgers World Series dates

Game 1 of the 2025 World Series is on Friday, Oct. 24. Unlike last October, the World Series schedule does not include flexible dates that are dependent on how long the Championship Series lasted.

If a Game 7 is necessary to determine the 2025 World Series champion, that is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 1.

Regardless of the matchup, scheduled off days during the World Series for travel are Sunday, Oct. 26 and Thursday, Oct. 30.
