UPDATE (May 22, 11 p.m. PT): The Los Angeles Dodgers rescheduled the Joe Davis bobblehead giveaway for Friday, Sept. 19, when they host the San Francisco Giants.
When the 2025 Los Angeles Dodgers promotions and giveaways schedule was released, it included an impressive 21 bobblehead dates planned throughout the year.
Last season saw 20 games selected for Dodgers bobblehead giveaway nights at Dodger Stadium.
Among the notable Dodgers bobbleheads for 2025 are four different Shohei Ohtani versions, Freddie Freeman’s walk-off grand slam pose from the World Series, rapper Ice Cube, Vin Scully, Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant, Roki Sasaki and broadcaster Joe Davis.
Ohtani’s first bobblehead of the season was holding the 2024 National League MVP trophy, and that was followed by another to commemorate the stolen bases of his record-setting 50-50 season. The third Ohtani bobblehead is for his 54 home runs hit last year, and the fourth design has yet to be revealed.
Meanwhile, Blake Snell, Sasaki, Tommy Edman and Ice Cube are receiving their first Dodgers bobbleheads. For Snell and Sasaki, it comes in their respective first seasons with the team.
Ice Cube became a central figure in the Dodgers winning the World Series last year as he performed before Game 2 at Dodger Stadium, was brought back for their championship celebration less than a week later and again for the ring ceremony this season.
Joe Davis bobblehead canceled
Davis also was in the category of receiving his first Dodgers bobblehead, but the July 6 giveaway was canceled. The Dodgers did not reschedule the Davis bobblehead, nor provide a reason for the change or announce a replacement item for that Sunday home game against the Houston Astros.
Davis is in his 10th season as a Dodgers broadcaster. He assumed primary play-by-play duties for SportsNet LA once Vin Scully retired after the 2016 season. And in 2022, Davis replaced Joe Buck as the lead MLB play-by-play announcer for Fox Sports.
Among other accolades, Davis was recently named the winner in the Outstanding Personality/Play-By-Play category at the 46th annual Sports Emmy Awards.
