As Major League Baseball remains shut down by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, fans and players have similarly turned to social media to connect with one another and attempt to maintain some level of positivity.

The Los Angeles Dodgers arranged for broadcasters Joe Davis and Orel Hershiser to host virtual interviews with team president and CEO Stan Kasten, president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman and manager Dave Roberts.

Now Davis and Hershiser announced their “Off Air” podcast this week, with the first episode now available to listen across multiple platforms. The duo had long fielded questions as to when they would do work outside the broadcast booth, and Davis officially announcing the podcast was met by widespread excitement.

Fans first began to clamor for a podcast or some sort of show hosted by Davis and Hershiser when they would share glimpses into their road trip down to San Diego or drives to Dodger Stadium via Instagram. Those included karaoke, good-natured ribbing and of course baseball discussions.

Davis is a frequent social media user and during recent weeks has used Instagram stories to document his grilling. With that being one of his passions outside of baseball, Davis recently issued a friendly challenge to Mike Trout. The L.A. Angels All-Star hosted an Instagram Live session in which he offered grilling tips.

Also on the podcasting front and with ties to the Dodgers organization, Kourtney Turner recently launched “Holding Kourt.” Justin Turner has appeared on the show, with the couple touching on pop-culture topics, their relationship with The Dream Center, and more.
