Dodgers Reveal Alternate Blue Road Jersey As Part Of Uniform Rotation

3 Min Read

The Los Angeles Dodgers announced they will be wearing an alternate blue jersey as part of their regular uniform rotation on the road for the first time in franchise history.

The blue alternate joins the gray “Dodgers” script jersey and gray “Los Angeles” script jersey as part of their mix of road uniforms.

The Dodgers still have their home white uniform and City Connect version for the games they play at Dodger Stadium.

Alternate blue Dodgers jersey details

The new blue jersey features the “Los Angeles” script across the chest, which has adorned their road jersey from 1959 to 1969, and 1999 to the present day.

It also has the “Dodgers” script across the sleeve, making it their first jersey to feature a patch with the text logo, rather than their interlocking “LA” logo.

The sleeves also feature gray piping, the same color as the road pants, and the Nike logo above the chest is also the same color.

In addition, the red numbers on the front of the jersey are outlined with gray, which the Dodgers say provides better legibility.

The new Dodgers road jersey also features a white number and name plate on the back.

Fans looking to purchase the new alternate road jersey can find a Shohei Ohtani version on the Dodgers’ official website store, but most sizes are sold out at the time of publishing.

They will likely be stocking more players in the near future, and it would be surprising if Dodger Stadium did not add them to its stores as well.

Justin Turner hoped for blue Dodgers jersey

Blue jerseys have been something both fans and players have wanted for quite some time, so it’s a positive addition that should make many people happy.

The Dodgers’ home white jerseys are some of the most pristine and recognizable uniforms in sports, so Justin Turner was among those who called for a blue road jersey back in 2021.

Prior to this announcement, the Dodgers had only worn blue jerseys during Spring Training, but those feature the “Dodgers” script across the chest with white piping on the sleeves, no outline on the numbers and the interlocking “LA” logo patch.

During the 1999 season, the team did wear a blue alternate that resembled their current Spring Training look but had silver outlining and piping.
