Dodgers All-Access: Pulling The Curtain Back At Dodger Stadium

3 Min Read

The Los Angeles Dodgers and Los Angeles Sports & Entertainment Commission (LASEC) hosted the fourth annual Dodgers All-Access on Tuesday night, providing fans with a behind-the-scenes look at the team and Dodger Stadium.

“Being able to create these type of memories, these special experiences, it doesn’t get much better than this,” LASEC president Kathryn Schloessman said. In addition to partnering with the Dodgers and Los Angeles Lakers for ‘All-Access’ events, the LASEC supports the City of Los Angeles to host and retain major sporting and entertainment events.

“The Commission is an important cog in the wheel at attracting lucrative events to our city,” Schloessman said. The LASEC helped secure the 2018 NBA All-Star Game and 2022 Super Bowl.

Schloessman announced Los Angeles submitted a bid to host a future MLB All-Star Game. While did not reveal for which year, the earliest possibility is 2020. The Dodgers were recently said to be a frontrunner to host the Midsummer Classic in 2020 or 2021.

“We should all expect to win these bids and host these events,” Schloessman said. “Not once, but on a continual rotation. Just imagine the contribution these events will bring to our local economy.”

The night’s programming included panels with Dodgers president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman, general manager Farhan Zaidi and manager Dave Roberts; and Cody Bellinger and former Dodgers first basemen Steve Garvey and Eric Karros.

Prior to the dinner, Dodger Stadium essentially served as a playground for attendees. Famed scout Mike Brito clocked pitches in the Dodgers bullpen, while the ever versatile Austin Barnes provided pitching tips and instruction in the visitor’s bullpen.

Orel Hershiser, Tommy Lasorda, Joc Pederson and Justin Turner were among those stationed for photo opportunities, while Mickey Hatcher threw batting practice. Hershiser then joined SportsNet LA host John Hartung as emcees for the night.

SportsCrate provided a complimentary bundle that their monthly subscribers received in June, and Nike distributed Dodgers t-shirts.

Fans also had the opportunity to visit the Dodger Stadium press box via a guided tour, and bid on autograph memorabilia in a silent auction. All proceeds from the event benefitted the Dodgers Foundation and LASEC.
