The Los Angeles Dodgers added Carlos Duran to their 40-man roster and designated Chuckie Robinson for assignment on Monday before their game against the Colorado Rockies.
The move comes just after the Dodgers released Jake Eder from their roster to make room for Evan Phillips, giving them some additional pitching depth.
Duran has appeared in 30 games for Triple-A Oklahoma City this season, going 2-2 with a 3.86 ERA while striking out 50 batters in 35 innings and limiting hitters to a .203 batting average.
In seven Minor League seasons, the 24-year-old is 10-22 with a 4.23 ERA and 443 strikeouts in 364 innings.
Duran is in his second stint with the Dodgers organization after being re-signed to a Minor League contract during the offseason. Last year, Duran was traded to the Athletics for Esteury Ruiz and went on to make his MLB debut on May 22.
The right-hander made only one appearance at the big league level and retired just one of five batters faced, allowing three runs on one hit to go along with three walks.
The Athletics designated Duran for assignment in June 2025, and he went on to spend the rest of the season in Triple-A.
During the 2025 season across both organizations, Duran posted a 5.03 ERA over 62.2 innings.
Duran originally signed with the Dodgers as an international free agent in 2018 and spent parts of six seasons with the organization before going to the A’s.
He underwent Tommy John surgery in 2022 and returned to the mound in 2024, where he posted a 3.71 ERA in 53.1 innings across High-A, Double-A and Triple-A.
Chuckie Robinson designated for assignment
The Dodgers removed Chuckie Robinson from their 40-man roster just two days after optioning him to Triple-A so they could call up Eliezer Alfonzo.
Robinson appeared in eight games for the Dodgers this season, but hit just .087/.087/.087 with one run scored and one RBI. He went hitless with the club in two plate appearances last season.
He was first called up on June 11 when Will Smith landed on the injured list. It marked his third stint with the club in two seasons after he replaced Smith and Dalton Rushing on separate instances in 2025 when they landed on the IL.
Over 60 career MLB games, Robinson is hitting .124/.157/.176 with two home runs, seven runs scored and six RBI.
Robinson re-signed with the Dodgers on a Minor League contract this past offseason. He first joined the organization on May 31, 2025, after being designated for assignment by the Los Angeles Angels. Robinson finished the season with the Atlanta Braves organization after they claimed him off waivers in late September.
