The Los Angeles Dodgers acquired Alec Grosser as the player to be named later to complete the June 30, five-player trade with the Atlanta Braves. Los Angeles previously landed Bud Norris, Cuban outfielder Dian Toscano and cash considerations.

Minor League relief pitchers Caleb Dirks and Philip Pfeifer were sent to Atlanta in the deal. The right-handed Grosser appeared in three games for Rookie-level Danville this season, allowed eight runs (seven earned), had six walks and two strikeouts over 3.1 innings pitched.

Grosser reached A-ball last season, appearing in 26 games and making 15 starts. He went 4-6 with a 7.32 ERA and 1.79 WHIP. He then was sent to Danville, where he tossed three innings over three appearances and allowed two runs (one earned).

In four professional seasons, the 21-year-old is 9-13 with a 5.35 ERA and 1.49 WHIP over 58 games (52 starts).

Grosser was ranked the Braves’ No. 16 prospect after the 2014 season by Baseball America. He went 4-3 with a 3.68 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 63 strikeouts over 13 games (12 starts) at the Rookie level that year.

Grosser has yet to appear in Braves’ organizational rankings since. Atlanta selected him in the 11th round of the 2013 Draft.
