2025 Blue Jays World Series Roster: Bo Bichette, Ty France Added

3 Min Read

The Toronto Blue Jays set their official roster for a World Series matchup against the Los Angeles Dodgers, carrying 12 pitchers and 14 position players.

The Blue Jays’ most impactful change from their first two rounds of October is the return of Bo Bichette. He has been nursing a left knee sprain for well over a month, causing Bichette to be unavailable for the American League Division Series and Championship Series.

After a rough 2024 season, Bichette responded with the best offensive year of his career. He hit .311/.357/.483 with 44 doubles, 18 home runs, 94 RBI and a 134 wRC+ in 582 at-bats this season, potentially boosting his market prior to becoming a free agent.

Although Bichette is now active, it’s not clear how much he’ll be able to play in the field. Manager John Schneider indicated the team nevertheless could see a scenario where Bichette played second base or shortstop, or was in the lineup as a designated hitter.

Also added onto the Blue Jays roster for the World Series is Ty France, who likewise has yet to appear in a postseason game this year.

Anthony Santander is not eligible for the World Series after he was removed during the ALCS and replaced by Joey Loperfido. Santander was scratched from Game 2 with lower back tightness and it eventually required him to be replaced.

José Berríos has also been left of the World Series roster as he remains on the injured list with right elbow inflammation.

The 2025 World Series is the first postseason meeting between the Blue Jays and Dodgers. The Dodgers took two out of three games from the Blue Jays during the regular season.
