While the Los Angeles Dodgers have made a strong case to be the latest MLB dynasty by winning back-to-back World Series titles and three in the last six years, their franchise history and success since 2000 is a mixed bag.
Up until the current era there was middling levels of postseason accomplishments since the turn of the century. But during that time has come impressive individual performances and players who carved out a special place in Dodgers franchise history.
The DodgerBlue.com staff has ranked the best Dodgers players in the last 25 years. Among various factors considered, the all-time Dodgers list was compiled by evaluating a player’s contributions and significance to the franchise.
Dodgers quarter-century all-time team
No. 24 Kiké Hernández
Hernández joined the Dodgers organization as part of a December 2014 trade with the Miami Marlins. The Dodgers also received Austin Barnes, Chris Hatcher and Andrew Heaney, and traded Dee Gordon, Dan Haren, Miguel Rojas and cash considerations to the Marlins.
Hernández appeared in 76 games during the 2015 season and then took on a larger role in ensuing years. Although Hernández provided immense value with his versatility, a true mark was made in the postseason. That further added onto the fun-loving personality being so revered by fans.
He became one of the more prolific hitters in MLB postseason history and regularly has delivered in key moments over nine seasons with the Dodgers.
Hernández’s postseason success has drawn plenty of attention and intrigue, leading to his revelation of relying on visualization and positive thinking.
In 2025, Hernández became the all-time Dodgers postseason leader for games played, surpassing his close friend and mentor, Justin Turner.
“Humbled, fortunate. This is not just any franchise, man. This is the L.A. Dodgers,” Hernández said. “They’ve been around for a long time, and they have a lot of history. And for a guy like me from Puerto Rico, kind of swam against the current my entire life, to be sitting in this position is pretty special.
“But at the same time, I haven’t really wanted to reflect too much on it because there’s going to be a time for that once I’m done playing, and I’m going to have a lot of years to reflect on it.”
