The annual Los Angeles Dodgers dress-up day was held Sunday for the team’s flight from San Diego to Phoenix, and it produced a wide variety of costumes that had social media buzzing.
Among them were Cody Bellinger, Joey Gallo, Andre Jackson and Justin Turner dressing as Chippendales dancers. During an interview on MLB Network, Turner shared that he approached Bellinger with the costume idea, and purchased additional bowties and cufflinks in the event a teammate needed some assistance.
That wound up being the case for Gallo and Jackson, but Turner also revealed that Bellinger was confused after agreeing to participate. Bellinger was under the impression he and Turner would dress as Chip ‘n’ Dale, the famous chipmunks who are Rescue Rangers.
That prompted Bellinger to raise questions and express confusion with teammates over the outfits associated with the dance troupe.

Despite the misunderstanding, Bellinger remained committed to any costume he needed to wear alongside Turner. The confusion is yet another moment the 27-year-old has been part of to make for laughs throughout the Dodgers clubhouse.
In 2017, Bellinger couldn’t identify Steve Urkel from the popular television sitcom, “Family Matters.” Or Squints from “The Sandlot,” whom Bellinger called, “Squirts.”
In 2019, Bellinger was at a loss after his pants fell down upon sliding into third base. “The belt didn’t even break. My pants just fell. Don’t know how,” Bellinger shrugged at the time. “Literally have no idea how. They just fell.”
That same year, Bellinger had a flub during the annual Dodgers fantasy football draft, which left him with Ezekiel Elliott rather than his preferred pick of DeAndrew Hopkins.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts did not participate in dressing up, but his top choice was Gavin Lux, Chris Taylor and Miguel Vargas being part of a group that went as some members from “The Sandlot.”
Taylor enjoyed Andrew Heaney dressing as “Lil Sweet” from Dr. Pepper commercials.
