The Los Angeles Dodgers continue their East Coast road trip with the first of a three-game series against the Washington Nationals. The Dodgers won two of three games against the Nationals in an April series at Dodger Stadium.

After a rainout on Friday, the two teams meet for a doubleheader on Saturday. Ross Stripling makes his fourth start and 15th overall appearance in Game 1.

He enters with an 0-1 record, 2.20 ERA, 2.83 FIP and 1.36 WHIP in 28.2 appearances with 31 strikeouts to nine walks. In his last start against the Cincinnati Reds, Stripling logged 5.1 innings of two-run ball and allowed six hits while accumulating seven strikeouts.

The right-hander has appeared in two previous games against the Nationals out of the bullpen, yielding four earned runs in just 1.2 innings.

The Nationals counter with Tanner Roark, who has enjoyed moderate success in the early going of his 2018 campaign. In eight starts this season, he owns a 3.33 ERA, 4.27 FIP and 1.01 WHIP with 45 strikeouts to 16 walks.

Roark last took the mound on May 10 against the Atlanta Braves, where he allowed just one run over seven innings pitched with four strikeouts and no walks. In his career against the Dodgers, Roark owns a lifetime 3.48 ERA and 0.97 WHIP across 10.1 innings with eight strikeouts to two walks.

Justin Turner, batting third, is 6-for-13 since being activated off the disabled list. On Thursday against the Miami Marlins, he recorded three hits — including two doubles — in four at-bats with a career-high tying five RBI.

Cody Bellinger again starts in center field, with Max Muncy moving from the left side of the infield to first base. Joc Pederson is in left field and Matt Kemp is playing in right. The Dodgers reinstated Tony Cingrani from the 10-day disabled list and optioned Adam Liberatore to Triple-A Oklahoma City.
