Justin Turner sent Dodger Stadium into a frenzy Sunday night with a three-run, walk-off home run that gave the Los Angeles Dodgers a 2-0 lead over the Chicago Cubs in the National League Championship Series.

The walk-off homer was the first of Turner’s career, regular season included, and it came on the 29th anniversary of Kirk Gibson hitting a game-winning home run in the World Series. Gibson and Turner are the only players in Dodgers franchise history to hit a walk-off homer in the playoffs.

Doing so nearly three decades after Gibson’s heroics in the Fall Classic makes for a particularly special moment for Turner, who grew up in the Southern California area.

So too did musical artist Snoop Dogg, and he was proud to voice his support of Turner immediately after Game 2 concluded, via Instagram (warning: video contains explicit language):

Coming off a Division Series in which he went 6-for-13 (.462 batting average) with a .533 on-base percentage, .692 slugging, one home run and five RBI, Turner is 3-for-8 with one home run and five RBI through two games of the NLCS.

The Dodgers and Cubs now head for Wrigley Field, with Games 3 and 4 scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively. If necessary, Game 5 would be played in Chicago on Thursday.
