Los Angeles Dodgers Minor League outfielder Yusniel Diaz, currently with High-A Rancho Cucamonga, was named the California League Player of the Month for June. He batted .396/.438/.673 with nine doubles, two triples, five home runs, 17 RBI and 20 runs scored in 24 games during that stretch.

During the month of June, Diaz led the Cal League in on-base percentage, total hits (40), doubles, extra-base hits (16) and total bases (68). He finished second in on-base plus slugging (1.111) and home runs.

Diaz is batting .287/.354/.439 with 15 doubles, three triples, eight home runs and 38 RBI through 75 games with the Quakes. He was named Cal League Player of the Week for June 19-25.

The 20-year-old is tied for second on the Quakes in doubles, is third in triples and fourth in home runs.

The Cuban native received a $15.5 million bonus when he signed with the Dodgers in November 2015. Diaz was part of a significant haul during the 2015-16 international signing period, which saw the Dodgers exceed $45 million in bonus.

Diaz made his professional debut with the Quakes last season, appearing in 82 games and missing some time due to injury. Excluding a three-game rehab stint with the Arizona League Dodgers, he finished the year batting .272/.333/.418 with eight doubles, seven triples, eight home runs and 54 RBI.
