High-A Rancho Cucamonga Quakes outfielder D.J. Peters was named the California League Player of the Week for games April 24-30. Peters was selected by the Los Angeles Dodgers out of Western Nevada College in the fourth round of the 2016 Draft.

In seven games last week, Peters swung the bat extremely well, going 10-for-25 (.400 batting average), with two doubles, four home runs, 11 RBIs, 10 runs scored and six walks. He homered three times in four games from Wednesday through Saturday.

On Friday and Saturday, he combined to go 5-for-10 with two home runs and four RBIs, as the Quakes split the first two of a three-game set against Lancaster.

Peters is off to a strong start to the season, as in 24 games with the Quakes he’s hit .298/.434/.524 with four home runs and 14 RBIs. The 21-year-old Glendora, Calif. native was ranked the 16th overall prospect in the Dodgers organization head into the 2017 season.

The Quakes entered play Tuesday at 14-11 and in first place in the South division of the California League. Mitchell White earned Cal League Pitcher of the Week to start the season, and Will Smith was named Player of the Week for games April 17-23.

All three players were selected by the Dodgers in the top four rounds of the 2016 Draft.
