Dodgers, Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation, HeartMedia Partnering With Farmer John, Frito-Lay & Levy To Serve Dodger Dogs At Dream Center

As part of their recently-launched coronavirus (COVID-19) relief efforts, the Los Angeles Dodgers, L.A. Dodgers Foundation (LADF) and iHeartMedia L.A. are partnering with Farmer John, Frito-Lay and Levy to serve 4,000 Dodger Dogs for lunch at The Dream Center on Friday.

Youth and families will also receive Dodgers tote bags, a kids’ jersey and t-shirts. Caps and gift cards will be presented to Dream Center staff by Dodgers partners Southern California McDonald’s and Jack in the Box.

The Dream Center launched its free meal program in response to the LAUSD shutting their doors and leaving children and families facing uncertainty. With a drive-thru set up on its campus, the L.A. Dream Center is serving daily from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., with lunch beginning at 11:30 a.m., and dinner starting at 4:30 p.m.

Justin and Kourtney Turner, along with Clayton and Ellen Kershaw have purchased food from local restaurants and had it delivered to The Dream Center for distribution to students and families in need.

Max Muncy, Corey Seager, Chris Taylor, Ross Stripling and Alex Wood have also provided support for The Dream Center. The nonprofit organization is currently feeding an average of 12,000 individuals per day.

The Turners, through their Justin Turner Foundation, regularly partner with The Dream Center on various community initiatives to provide for those in need.

The Dodgers, LADF and iHeartMedia are focused on relief efforts for those experiencing homelessness, food insecurity, difficulty with basic needs and provide support for healthcare workers during the pandemic.

Initial grants are being be directed to the Los Angeles Food Bank, My Friend’s Place and the Mayor’s Fund of Los Angeles. Additional funds raised will be directed to similar organizations with substantial need.

Initial in-kind donations include food, hygiene necessities, clothing and promotional items distributed to the Los Angeles Unified School District’s Grab & Go Food Centers, The Dream Center and homeless shelters in partnership with City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks.

The LADF also established a special auction to further support local coronavirus (COVID-19) relief efforts.

Bidding for each of the 21 items opened Wednesday and the auction runs through 5 p.m. PT on Sunday, April 19.

Available products include autographed jerseys from players on the 2020 Dodgers roster, highlighted by Cody Bellinger, Mookie Betts, Clayton Kershaw and Justin Turner. Game-worn Kiké Hernandez and Max Muncy jerseys are also up for bidding.
